The social security disability administration is in need of a total reorganization. The time frame in which it takes to go through the disability approval process is far too long and most times people do not have the funds to survive for the period of time that it takes social security make a decision. Most people also are denied initial approval as well as reconsideration only to have to carry on to the appeal process, all of which can take 2 years or more. I know because I am one of these people. Social security is paid and taken out of each United States citizens taxes for unforeseen events to our health in which these funds are necessary for our everyday living and expenses should we not be able to work. Since this is our very own money that we have earned throughout our work history and turned over to the government,we should be entitled to using our own money when we need it. Feeling like I have to fight the government to obtain my very own money that I made is overwhelming and tiresome and can take years of your life when the money is needed now. They’re requirements for SS disability make it almost unobtainable for individuals. You can seek out a lawyer as part of their scam, which then they get a portion of your social security benefits because the world says you need one to fight for you. Again I remind you this is our own money that we worked for, not the government. Why must I pay someone to fight to give me my earned money? They make it very hard for someone under the age of 50 years old to obtain social security disability. In my case I’ve worked since I was 16 years old and meet there initial requirements but have still been trying to obtain social security disability for 2 years and denied at the reconsideration level. I’m living off of what little retirement funds I was able to accumulate in the last 10 years of my life while I figure out how I’m going to make ends meet throughout the rest of my life. I am a widow and a mother. I propose that social security disability benefits be given to those that have paid into the system whenever they need it without having to jump through so many hoops to obtain their own money. The requirements that you have to meet for the social security Kelley Blue book listings is almost impossible as everyone situation is different. You must be practically dead or lifeless before meeting there requirements. I propose the entire portion of this government be revamped, reorganized and rules reworded for us people and to make it easier for us to provide for ourselves in such events. Who hired all of these government employees making it so difficult for each of us to obtain our money? I’d like to know how many cases are actually approved compared to the ones that are not. It’s a big conspiracy if you ask me or anyone I know. This has been needed for decades, it’s time.
