Social Security Disability Process Streamlined

I propose that we do like other countries and overhaul the process of applying for disability. The way we do it now forces the applicant into financial hardship while making lawyers rich. I propose that if a medical doctor determines a person is disabled then there is a one page form the doctor fills one and signs. The applicant takes it to the social security office where they are immediately granted benefits. THEN the investigation begins while receiving benefits. If found to be fraud, then benefits are paid back with interest plus jail. This way the truly disabled aren’t forced into financial hardship. It took me over TWO years of ZERO income to receive my disabilty award. Had to use my settlement to pay off credit cards and bills. It’s absolutely the worst process ever. THEN you get it and find out they deduct $174 a month for Medicare! WHY? I can’t afford that!
