Social Security hardships

If social security makes an error (late payment, overpayment, sends the wrong amount, etc…) then they are responsible for rectifying the financial hardship of that error. I’ve seen many people go without food, face eviction or other messed up scenarios as a result of the mistakes in this administration. Forcing disabled or retired individuals to pick up the pieces. This is not right. This is not acceptable. And there should be proper incentive to working while recieving benefits. Why would anyone try to seek employment if you could lose benefits if you work too much or get in an overpayment situation or make less money working than getting benefits. It shouldn’t take days long seminars and professionals to understand how social security works for each and every scenario. The level of complexity is baffling to me let alone to a disabled or elderly person. I don’t know the specific answer for how to fix it all but there has to be a simpler, more cost effective way to do it.

I agree and raising the savings minimum for people on SSI because 2k or less is not enough in this economy with inflation. It hasnt been chanced since 1989.

I have also posted a proposal on needed SSI reform. If they would provide a safety net for people to work (when possible) and increase the asset allowance it would improve the lives of many people at no added cost to the taxpayer.
