Looking at the many ways that we can all see that our Government is wasting money, there is one category that has stuck out to me on many occasions and that is the allotments given to our Representatives in D.C. I have seen so many different reports of what they are give for travel, furniture, food, hotels, housing, staffing, alcohol and so many more that it baffles me. Their retirement benefits are insane as well as their healthcare. They work on average 40-50% of the time that the rest of the US does and on average (when you include all of the perks they receive) they earn 5 times the average salary of the US citizen. At first glance we could easily save our Nation 250 million plus a year. I hope this is something that Elon and Vivek look into as they are cutting the fat.

Give them the exact same benefits we are offered, and take the benefit cost from their salary. I have heard it many times from DC that we are not smart enough to govern ourselves. Then they pass pay raises for themselves and we let them do it.
I suggest that the representatives petition their state for raises and it’s voted on, the state pays their salary, has recall power over the representative and they’re reminded they work for the people.
