Members of Congress should make no more than the average median salary for the district they represent.

And a full inquiry if they get income above that limit without proof of where income originated. Also pension should be equivalent to our SS payments that they “borrowed” from.

Please consider my proposal. While it isn’t exactly this, it would allow your state more direct control over how they pay the person who represents them.

Pay raises for Congress

Why subject the Nation to a vote for Bob Bureaucrat’s pay. The State elected representatives should be employed by the State and have NO federal compensation. State buys a residence in DC for their representative, like the Governor’s mansion, pays their salary, all other expenses, and if they want a raise, they go to their employers, the people of the area they represent and ask for it.
