drug tests for welfare?
so you want to create a whole group of people who is not only off their drug, but hungry and homeless, too?
so, very aggressive and has nothing to lose?
how could anyone feel this might be a good idea?

Trump supports a central digital bank sadly, not hard currency. As of Oct. 15th.
Also, i did directly suggest solutions instead of point out an issue. Reread, and check out my other policies.
My point is that this system is bulit in an extremely corruptible way, and creating solutions within the current system will lead to more issues. But, your solve is ignorant of the current State-by-State system; individuals in certain states have to complete work requirements and provide proof of employment in order to receive benefits.
Food support systems are not what is adding weight to our debt. Foreign aid, interest payments on the debt, and defense spending are what takes us into a deficit. What you suggest helps no one, it only makes it more difficult to eat.
Why not a program that helps people produce their own food rather than purchase it from others. Disabled and canât grow food? Subsidies to companies that can produce and research easier ways to produce for any group.
^ directly in support of your suggestion of âwelfare not lasting foreverâ
If Congress continues to support conglomerates over local business, everyone will be forced onto welfare or minimum wages upkept by legislative corporate increases.
^ a key component for individuals and local business gaining a level of autonomy and independence from their government or corporate conglomerates
Illegals receiving benefits is an entirely different issue. Any non-citizen residing within the US should not be eligible for any benefits let alone food support.
Hereâs an article and some proposals:
So you think we should keep people on drugs?
Give them a pass
Or maybe we stop letting drugs in and then they must go cold turkey
I think we also need to get rid of the weed dispensaryâs for recreation
You think the govt was thinking of the peopleâs welfare with that debacle.?
So whatâs YOUR solution??
Last I heard he supports Bitcoin
And gold back money
Heâs going to bring down the central bank
So no central bank digital currency will be possible
Nor fo we want that one world order bs
By not supporting legalized, taxable markets of natural alternatives to opioids, and widely tested treatments for cancer and Parkinsonâs, you directly support black market cartels. People are going to use drugs, you canât stop them.
Education against drug use, taxable markets, and safe supplies are what can help people beat addiction to heavier substances like fent., meth, crack, benzos, and opioids.
The Punishment vs. Prevention mentality keeps the fake âWar on Drugsâ going-and our tax dollars flowing into needless internal conflict. There are much better streams of revenue for the government, than indebting and imprisonment for a personal choice.
Cannabis grown locally, with no additives, is safer than alcohol and cigarettes. Itâs an anti-inflammatory and nerve reactive substance that has several industrial uses also. Get off the propaganda. We are only in a prohibition because of government support of the cotton, paper, oil, and plastic industries; because hemp has potential to replace them.
Addiction is the only social, physical, and mental disease, and one of the hardest for people to overcome. Rehabs exist because âstopping cold turkeyâ is only somthing you can do with pot, and cigarettes. Not even all alcoholics could do that.
There is zero sign of the US dollar going back to hard currency as of right now. Though I wish there were. As of Oct. 15th he stated he supported the creation of a central digital bank/the use of bitcoin investment to pay off the debt. â The replacement of the FED with a new bank.
^Actually it seems still up in the air, He doesnât support a CDB but seeks to use crypto. Odd. @Kathym1
Hopefully his new âCDBâ functions under a sunset clause, and whoâs only goal is to finance the debt than dissolve. I would love if post-debt-management we switched back to hard currency.
Not all disabilities are visible. So those would also need to be accounted for but can be done by providers.
The issue here is that I believe people who have been on welfare are required to pay back the money if they ever go off welfare. This creates prison they can never get out of. I had this discussion with a Congressman years ago. He thought they should have to pay the money back. But if they canât make enough money to pay back the welfare how would they ever get motivated to do anything but to stay on it. It entraps people. They need the assistance and to be able to climb out of the system reasonably. So if this rule that requires that they pay back the money is still in existence I believe it should be removed so that people can actually get a job and move on. This includes people with disabilities.
The system needs to be ammended to be more promotional to someone being able to move forward without imprisoning them in debt so they can never move on. They should also permit those who have permanent disabilities to have times they can work part time at least without cutting them off completely or kicking them out of housing because they will likely not be able to be self sufficient at all time or long enough. They need stability. And allowing them to work can save some taxpayer money at times without creating another dependency or putting them in a situation where they fear they will end up on the street.
That would be beneficial for everyone.
Great points. The system as it is entraps citizens.
I would add they must get free schooling. After so many years no more welfare, go to work!!! And no extra money for having more children while on welfare. Low income, no job, to work program!
This might SOUND like a good idea, but it is DUMB! I have been fully employed , or gotten enough savings to ride out luls, for 44 YEARS! I collected only ONE employment check in ALL of that time put together. That was in the 1980s. I think they SHOULD have SOME sort of buffer, such as you have maybe 3 months to get employment before they crack the whip, etcâŚ
I was never on food stamps or welfare, or anything of the sort, but some have NO options and could easily end up there. I also DO save when I can, and I havenât had a minimum wage, or low paying, job for over 38 years.
I DO agree that welfare, and food stamps, etc⌠should be a LAST RESORT, and SHORT TERM, and there should NEVER be âUBIâ!
At the moment, I am unemployed, and am NOT on unemployment! WHY? because my state effectively requires me to do what KATHERINE wants, and that would destroy my ability to get REAL work, and I would lose my house and my car, AND MUCH MORE etc⌠NO THANKS! I will use the time off, as I have been, to keep up on things, and learn new things, in between interviews, etc⌠Unfortunately, many interviews take a long time in the tech industry. I had several for my last job.
As for SKILLS? WHAT skills do you figure I could even learn from most volunteer work that I donât already know? I have been living on my own MOST of those 40 years. I was even a latch key kid, so I had to make my own food, etcâŚ
This right here.
Wrong, as a recipient I can attest this is NOT true. I only am required to be signed up for employment services with the state. we need to limit how far background checks go back for employment purposes, asa this is my major obstacle in obtaining gainful employment
If you want to reduce the burden of benifits then limit how far back that background checks for employment can go. that is a major obstacle for some of us
Iâm all for working, but it has to be enought to meet a decent standard of living and remove DEI and ESG initiatives.
I agree
Yes
I am obviously not talking about those that were in the work force and have a career focus
Iâm focusing on people who donât seem to be able to get out o the system and so they get comfortable collecting benefits - for longgggg periods of time
Explain more
Perhaps if they are working / volunteering/ going to school- they would t be sexually engaging - they will be too busyâŚ
I believe Parkinsonâs is caused by heavy metals
Cancer is caused by parasites. Like so many major diseases.
Marijuana was always around - you had no issue getting it and it was manipulated by the govt. in which they have made it addictive and nasty to wane off -
They should have left it alone the way it was and those that wanted to smoke it - they would instead of advertising it and now people who wouldnât have smoked it are
It is not a drug that makes you a go getter 100%
If anyone is able bodied, they should just flat out go out and get a job, forget volunteer work. Anyone who is physically capable of working, doesnât need to be on welfare. I could see if your a single mom or dad, with children and no child support that is working a job, needing the extra assistance. This makes sense. Allowing anyone to be on welfare that can do volunteer jobs can go out and get a real job!
