Enforcement of the 1st Amendment in relation to Religious Reference in Official Text

The use of the phrases ‘In God We Trust’ and ‘Under God’ violates the First Amendment.

‘Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.’

“…no man shall be compelled to frequent or support any religious worship, place, or ministry whatsoever, nor shall be enforced, restrained, molested, or burthened in his body or goods, nor shall otherwise suffer, on account of his two religious opinions or belief; but that all men shall be free to profess, and by argument to maintain, their opinions in matters of religion, and that the same shall in no wise diminish, enlarge or affect their civil capacities.” - James Madison

Our Currency violates this, and our Pledge violates this. Some state constitutions also prohibit those who do not believe in God from holding public office. Arkansas, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas are in violation of this right.

Wording like ‘No person who denies the existence of a Supreme Being shall hold any office in this state.’ is Unconstitutional.

It’s easy to manipulate this freedom into an ‘attack’ on any such religious group, which make up vast majorities of our population.

I disagree. The entire point of the Declaration of Independence is to declare that the People have Natural Rights that come directly from God, the Divine Creator. It’s right there, read it. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights”. . . . “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.” Yes, America was absolutely founded with a belief in God and trusting in Divine Power or Providence. God Bless America!!!

The entire concept of Natural Rights and the exact type of forethought that came from the Era of Enlightenment has influenced the creation of the first Ten Amendments. First of which includes the Freedom of Speech, Expression, and Religion.

I’m sorry sir, but you’re constitutionally incorrect. It was also this mentality of ‘divine Providence’ and ‘manifestation of our destiny’ that lead to the imperialization of the West. Hitler’s direct inspiration.

Had we adhered to our Constitution, the Several Tribes would have been integrated, unassimilated, as states, and with proper representation. Instead their cultures were deemed incompatible, and erased.
