Congress should work on commission just like a salesman does. They will be paid per bill they pass to exceed no more than their current salary. If you don’t pass any bills, you don’t get paid. No one else in the work force gets paid for not doing their job.
This in turn would stop filibustering and promote bringing forward only legislation that can get bipartisanship. This would expedite emergency funding as well as expose corrupt politicians that do not have America’s interest and safety in mind. This would also make lobbying more difficult due to the obvious conflict of interests it would present.
My concern with this is that you get what you reward. If you reward passage of bills, you are going to get many MANY more laws, and that will exacerbate the already excessive legal and regulatory pressure on our freedoms.
I would, however be willing to offer a bounty for any unnecessary laws they remove, any excessive and over-reaching regulation they remove, any deadwood employees and positions they remove, and any inefficiencies and waste of taxpayer funds they put a stop to.
I am going to have to say no to this one. This would incentivize bad behavior. We see this in many professions. We also see this in the Bayh-Dole Act where Employees and Universities were permitted to earn patents. We saw this with Fauci.
