Ban laws discouraging homesteading and self sustainability on an owners property or land

Ban laws that discourage home owners and land owners from producing food on their properties so that they can be self sustaining if that’s what they desire. Whether it is a POA or HOA or a government rule, all peoples should be able to grow food and meat on their property as well as collect rain water and install alternative means of producing energy for their home/homestead. A home own should be able to grow or have as much cattle as their size plot will allow giving each animal plenty of room to thrive. Smaller homesteads should not be discouraged from owning chickens and having gardens on their property.

I disagree with removing all the laws on the subject. It may be a case by case situation as you have to decide how close the neighbors are and how will the neighbors be effected by the livestock in question. It is one thing to live on a acreage or greater piece of land and have livestock versus living in an urban or suburban location.
I agree laws prohibiting the collection of rain water or putting up a solar panel on one’s property should be stopped. It would depend on how close one is to neighbors for windmills as some are very noisy and the installation can cause damage to the water shed for those nearby.

I would normally agree however my life’s experience has shown giving our government a way out is never good. So making these limitation will force builder to build homes closer together so they retain control. I say instead of denying this legislation move to a location where you have enough prroperty to make this not be a concern. I find give an inch they take a mile is very true.

Great idea, but this shines more as an observation than a detailed contribution.

There are several other proposals that go into depth about the specific regulations in place that discourage homesteading.

A proposal about ‘banning laws’ isn’t going to get anywhere.

How about refining this with:

  • Legalized sale of unprocessed raw milk
  • Legalized sale of unprocessed farm eggs
  • Buyer bewhere policies
  • Proper land allotment for homesteading
  • Choice based supply for cattle feed/water
  • Deregulation of the cattle : land ratio

Add more detail and specifics, or propose merges with similar proposals.
