It would be wonderful to see some form of Federal level laws that allow people everywhere(cities and apartments included) to grow their own food in either community gardens or personal raised beds, plots, or pots. Outlawing GMO seeds, and encouraging heirloom purchases. Outlaw Monsanto, Round-Up, and other carcinogenic plant pesticide trestments to reduce the toxins both in our foods and ultimately in our water supply. Perhaps some start up programs to help establish this amongst our less fortunate communities and homeless. Broadening this- possibly encouraging cities to provide pesticide-free fruit bearing trees and plants in their cosmetic landscaping instead of useless plants.

I agree with this, and would like to add, a ban on any HOA refusing the right to grow a vegatable garden. Vegatables would be allowed to grow anywhere an ornamental plant is allowed to grow.
