There really needs to be an affordable flat rate for spaying and neutering of pets, and monies available to assist with those costs too. They’ve made it so cost prohibitive that people are not doing it and the population of sick and homeless animals has skyrocketed. Relying on non-profits is not enough, because the need is far too great. Those resources are quickly depleted by the vets that are increasing service prices. There needs to be funding for mobile units that incentivizes vets to provide service to rural, impoverished areas who are in greatest need. It’s just not fair to the animals.
