Nonprofit shelters are always full, kill shelters euthanize mass amount of animals daily, and stray cats and dogs run our streets in countless numbers. A lot of pet wonders would like to get their animals spayed or neutered but cannot afford it. There is some assistance out there, but it is hard to come by and lines fill up fast. I believe if there was some type of government or state assistance in helping individuals with these heavy costs it would have a positive domino effect on the health of pets, lighten the burden animal shelters feel, and give citizens an incentive to alter their pets to avoid unwanted litters.
