I understand that abortion was/ is now left up to the state. The one thing i disagree on, is that roe v wade should have never been overturned. Most young women with ,for instance pcos, can have trouble conceiving and carrying baby to term. There is a chance it could be a life threatening situation. Roe v Wade was ,they feel, their only protection, in whatever state they live in, should it be necessary to terminate. I think reversing the overturning of it would be beneficial for their mental health.
It’s not true that abortion was left to “states-only.” I hear that often, but it’s not actually true. The Supreme Court, for example, said that it is up to “lawmakers” from BOTH states AND “Congress.” And the 14th amendment has always allowed federal regulation of “inter-state commerce” (which can include abortion and medical standards) and for the protection of due process rights for each “PERSON’S” “life, liberty and property.” Supreme Court has even affirmed the constitutionality of federal laws that the GOP claimed was unconstitutional and/or violated states rights, such as Obamacare and EMTALA.
I created a proposal that addresses the top concerns about abortion AND pro-life laws. I explained the constitutionality in the first few paragraphs, and also in my many responses to the “states-rights-only” people.
The very first paragraph summarizes the whole idea, and the actual content of my proposal comes after a few disclaimer paragraphs/my MAHA letter.
Would you please read/consider it?
