There should be limits for all health care workers. I work in Colorado and oncology nurses have 6 patients to 1 nurse that is unsafe and unfair. Not only that but CNA’s are forced to have 20+ patients to 1 CNA. Pcu patients which need to be at a higher ratio are at 6 patients to 1 nurse. This bill should be nation wide not just select states. There is also a cap on how much a nurse or CNA can make even if the nurse is at a certain facilities for 20+ years, they don’t get a raise after 15 or so because they’ve met the cap on how much they can be paid. Also if nurses or CNAs do not get a yearly increase (such as Covid) then upper management should not get bonuses. At my facility nurses and CNA’s did not get a yearly increase during covid but yet the ceo and coo and so on and so forth got a bonus for their profit during covid.
