Caregiver for the Disabled Assistance

A government program that would enable the primary caregiver of a disabled love one to stay home to care for that individual. Currently the Michelle P Waver program is the only program that assists in some fashion with caring for the disabled. That program has a 1-2 year waiting list and usually will only pay for someone other than the family to care for the disabled person in the home. SSI doesn’t pay enough for a family member to stay home as a caregiver. This places parents with disabled children in a very difficult spot throughout their childs lifetime. A tax break would not be sufficient. The assistance should be based off of the economy at the given time.
