Assistance is needed for parents or caregivers that have to quit their jobs to care for a disabled family member. Primarily, the situation where a parent must give up a full time career in order to care for a child with chronic illness. The help needed isn’t necessarily financial but could include in-home care on certain days or times so a parent can still earn a reasonable wage. Assistance is available if below certain income thresholds, however many people do not meet the requirements. Many families are in the situation of giving up their assets or jobs to receive help with a disabled family member. Any ideas on this issue are appreciated!
