Call a Convention of the States to Limit the Scope, Power and Jurisdiction of the Federal Government

Well said.

Convention of states has the ability to save our nation, but we must move quickly. We are going off a cliff if we do not take action.

The deep state bureaucracy is such a mess, full of corruption and inefficiencies. Our founding fathers were geniuses to give the people one last tool to defend ourselves against a tyrannical government. An Article V Convention is paramount.

Without a Government that protects us based on the original Constitution, then we no longer have a country. We must call a Convention of States to reign in our government and restore our Constitution. All the things we are concerned about cannot be addressed until we succeed in this endeavor first. Then all other issues can be dealt with.

This is why an Article V Convention of States is SOOOO important‼️

One thing for sure is that some say the federal government won’t do this or blah blah . Number one is that in The COS . We have the power to control that and I know it will be rough at first cause everyone has been through a lot but now comes the time of structure in the system. We have to communicate with each other and if it’s a head to head then we need a COS board that can say no or yes to the feds we are human beings and can get it done look how bad it’s been. You don’t think we can get it right or compromise, no one is bigger than anybody else remember it’s for the people and mankind. And Justice .

Honestly, my feeling is that this is the only salvation for the US. Trump admin is hopefully going to help, but the establishment is currently way too strong and NOT focused on the people.

Totally agree. The federal government has morphed into something the Founders never envisioned.

Love the passion, though it is misplaced. Before anyone jumps into the fray of a constitutional convention one must look deeper into the underlying problem not the symptoms. Meaning … too many believe government has gotten too big for its britches. Actually no they haven’t! What they have done, by our unknowing consent, is created a non-common law society. They have us believing that Statutes and codes are law. They are not. They are corporate governance policies and processes not law. The definition of a law broken has been, as supported by Supreme Court Rulings, a crime where a Corpus Delecti has been harmed followed by a sworn affidavit by a first hand witness. The J-6ers where was the harmed individual and where was the affidavit from the first hand witness. Soooo before you claim a convention to fix what is perceived to be out of control corporate governance look to the Declaration of Independence and see that God and our forefathers reaffirmed Gods unalienable rights. Learn how to stand up to the out of control corporate governance and stand your God given ground to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Then you’ll remove the blinders and see how to remove corporate governance and the fake and phoney statutory laws that are repugnant to our Supreme Law of the Land.

Article V, our last & best hope!

Your correct minute man bud. It is our Declaration of Independence. The difference between standing for unalienable rights and a convention of states. With the convention of states the entire constitution is open up for revision which includes the bill of rights. Those bill of rights is what has kept us relatively free. Why relatively … think about it there are 10 commandments and 10 articles which make up the bill of rights. What have the existing corporate governance had a tough time repealing… that’s right the bill of rights. Why it is what our founders gave us reaffirming our God given rights. What has corporate governance done to our bill of rights … they have created parallel words that seem the same but are not. For example, 2nd amendment we have the right to bear arms and it shall not be infringed. How has the corporate governance attempted to infringe by creating a parallel word FireArms. Now that becomes a Code or a Statute which everyone believes is our 2nd amendment. No FireArms is their word our forefathers word was right to Bear Arms. There is no FireArms in the second amendment. Sooo if the convention of states moves forward how many words will be redefined to a point of being swallowed up by Privileges not Rights. Hale v. Henkel Supreme Court ruling says the Federal nor the States may turn a Right into a Privilege and then charge a fee. What have they done just that … driver’s license fee, marriage license fee, business license fee. Each of these fees dismantles our unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We have all consented to give up our rights for privileges. And now we want to do the same thing by having a constitutional convention. One last item … how many common law rights do we have 10. How many commandments do we have 10. How many Statues, Codes and Ordinances do we have 66 million. It’s not the constitution that needs to be looked at it’s We The People that need to look at ourselves and ponder ‘why did I give up my Rights for Privileges.

Americans don’t “clutch their pearls” when a legislator in Congress invokes Article V to propose an amendment to the Constitution. This happens multiple times per year, but you likely don’t hear about it because the amendment(s) didn’t have 3/4 support in both chambers. Similarly, the states can propose amendments on a limited set of topics in an amending convention. In either case, each amendment must be ratified by 38 states to become part of THIS Constitution…not a brand new one. Doubters, please read the language of Article V and do your homework to fully understand. This is a safe process, and the best way to curb the growth of the federal government.

Sakes, stownsend2. That’s quite the diatribe. You could be correct that Americans have too easily given up their rights. But rather than list the errors of imperfect citizens, we want term limits on federal office-holders, amendments to promote fiscal responsibility, and amendments that can truncate federal power. I can’t think of a more powerful way to instill Americans with a respect for self-governance than a state amending convention that can promote these three things.

I must ask why you purport, “…the entire constitution is open up for revision which includes the Bill of Rights.” What a preposterous statement. Our Constitution does not inherently allow for revision. Please read the language of Article V.

I would love to see this happen… lets get term limits, this will be the only way…

Your response is completely erroneous and you demonstrate a serious lack of knowledge about what this is. My question is why? Your comments are based on things opponents of the constitutional process say about it, leftists primarily and swamp rats pretending to be right… What you are not talking about is what it actually is. My reply is not to you but to those seeking the truth about it. Anyone who makes such assertions without fact I have no intention of trying to convince of anything. It seems clear what you are after. Political gamesmanship. To others not sure, if you spend some time actually looking into it all of the erroneous points just made, they are addressed openly and honestly in many places the COS posts info. Comments like this do not argue against what it actually IS, they are straw man arguments against what it is NOT and dishonest. I question if the poster has ever even read Article 5 because then they may actually understand what it is about. Check out the COS website and find out for yourself what it ACTUALLY Represents. My God, are we not all sick and tired of dishonest people talking around issues and trying to distract us from taking power back as THE PEOPLE our framers spoke of? This is not some nutty idea, it is in Article 5 of the United States Constitution as one of two ways to make amendments to the US Constitution, the first which is listed there Congress has had since the country began and this became the law of the land. WE THE PEOPLE have just failed to ever exercise our own power and circumvent the congress which COS does. The framers wrote it for a time when politicians became too corrupt to answer to the people, they wrote it for TODAY! I would be very weary of comments like this one allowing it to detour you from at least looking into it. That is the point. The corrupt swamp HATES this idea and you have to ask yourself why? Back to this poster, understand a thing before you speak against it, ignorance is NO EXCUSE for the harm you cause. You likely do but I threw that in to give you benefit of the doubt. If that passion is real and you seek truth then try seeking it, not working against it ignorantly just because you believed lies someone told you about it. That is mostly what you stated, things NOT TRUE.

Hey folks, the best thing we can do for this is volunteer our time at the local level. I also have a Cos post that details how I would run it. Lets help this stay concise, and for that I am linking my Cos Post that will hopefully become a blueprint for this stuff.

There aren’t any rules written except how to call a COS. The first thing they would do is decide on the rules. And the people that go represent my very red state of Wyoming, will probably vote for lots of things I don’t like.
Like the first and second amendment. Would be changed! I don’t see any way to limit what happens in a COS.

As the strategic goals of the COS are three in number so too are the goals that must be shared by all patriots, those are:

  1. Strengthen American manufacturing
  2. Secure America’s borders
  3. End America’s involvement in endless wars

Many states limit their commissioners to the three subjects of Term Limits. Fiscal Restraint and limiting the power of the Federal Government under penalty of fines and imprisonment. Every day the Congress shows up they have the power to propose amendments to the Constitution yet somehow you fear the people having the ability to propose amendments with their local officials.
Finally, I think you misunderstand that an Article V Convention just like Congress can only propose amendments. Whatever comes out of the convention would still need to be ratified by three quarters of the states just like the twenty -seven amendments that have been ratified
