Allow Supplements and Herbs for Healing to be covered by Insurance

As someone who went to all the doctors and did all the testing, dieting, fasting, Keto. I took a Chiropractor that works with natural healing to find out what was going on with my stomach. He was able to do the RIGHT test to find out how sick I really was. It was all out of pocket, but I was able to make the sacrifice to feel better and heal myself. When I talk to people and the look they give be because most people are so blind to the health care system and the fact that doctors don’t want to heal us, but make us rely on junk medicatioins that they say we’ll have to take forever, and sometimes make bigger problems.

Some medicare advantage plans do cover the cost of some over the counter drugs and supplements.

The issue is that most supplements are considered to be foods and not drugs. Herbs and vitamins don’t have to be tested for safety. Self-regulated by the manufacturer, no proof is required to demonstrate their effectiveness.

I agree with you though, I wish doctors would suggest more use of supplements than drugs, certainly they are safer (in my opinion).

Totally agree with this. Also I think doctors ought to be taught to recommend supplements with limited to no side effects BEFORE prescribing any pharmaceuticals when possible. And that you can use HSA/FSA money toward herbs, supplements, vitamins, gym membership, chiropractic, massage, naturopaths, etc.
