Make health insurance companies cover alternative treatment and medicine

There are many people throughout the United States who rely strictly on homeopathic or alternative medicines and treatment for prevention as well as for treatment of common illnesses and diseases. It would benefit the American people, as well as the Insurance companies to allow for coverage of homeopathic treatment. People who choose homeopathic medicine are being forced to choose allopathic medicines simply because we are being left out in the cold when it comes to medical coverage.

Everytime we expand coverage we impact cost. It is disingenuous to say “add coverage” while also saying “reduce costs”. They have diametrically opposite results.

But why are only pharmaceuticals covered, when there are much safer and healthier alternatives?

Thank you for being another voice pointing out what I’ve been trying to say every time someone puts out another “We need to require that insurance companies cover X!” policy.

Is it legally required that pharmaceuticals be covered?

It doesn’t add cost if someone is using alternative treatments versus allopathic treatments

Then perhaps we should remove coverage for things that actually bring harm to people and are actually little to no benefit to make room for alternative treatments? Why do we believe we are just stuck with what we get?? There are MULTIPLE diagnoses that are faked for insurance reasons. There is a lot of insurance fraud that happens with the help of physicians. Why not audit them and weed out the waste?

If both are mandated to be covered by insurance, then yes it does.

The fewer things that insurance is mandated to cover, the better.

They need to get rid of the medical coding that was instituted under Obamacare.

I agree with no new mandates but the allopathic community dictates what can be covered and they dictate that non-allopathic treatments are not covered.

It does not add cost, it provides patients with a healthier alternative. Many people are unwilling to modify their dietary habits. But, the people who are willing can get help with safer alternatives that, when combined with dietary changes, provide excellent relief without the harmful side effects of chemicals.

That’s not how it works when you’re mandating things be covered by insurance.

Everything that is added to the list of things that insurance is required to cover will always add to the cost of insurance.

You are correct, Sheila. It’s a very one-sided model favoring pharma. It was Rockefeller who squashed holistic medicine to push his petrol chemical cocktails on us and call them medicine. All they do is cover up symptoms and cause a whole lot more health issues. We should be pushing holistic medicine and non-toxic food, with pharma drugs as a last resort.

We are mandate to spend extremely expensive health insurances, where it doesn’t cover alternative and Naturopathic doctors, some states do not even accept their licenses to practice, this must change soon
