With the recent misbehavior and lack of assistance from FEMA in Western NC and Florida, we should abolish FEMA completely and rebuild. The new FEMA should consist of volunteer and non-profit organizations with no political affiliations. They should be required to meet a certain criteria and readiness level, but should have the freedom to assist their communities locally and out of state if needed. The federal government should use the same tax dollars they use to fund FEMA now, and instead give it to these more productive organizations to build up their equipment and training. Thus allowing locals to assist locals and ask for assistance from other people if needed, with no government agency trying to stop them.

Maybe we create ACESA (American Citizens Emergency Services Administration)n or something along those lines.

I would like the new D.O.G.E. to begin a FEMA investigation. They should contact all governors who have had to work with FEMA over the years to find out what works and what doesn’t. I would like to see FEMA completely closed down and a new entity opened that retains the verifiably good parts of FEMA. If FEMA is slimmed down to basic elements, then we the people know how much our neighbors need us rather than thinking that the government is going to bail them out.

Emergency personnel do need to carry weapons when assisting in hurricanes, Tornadoes or other Natural or man made disaster. Remove Firearms immediately from FEMA agents. Prosecute all FEMA agents that have denied assistance to victims such as the stoppage of people from helping victims. Confiscation of Donations, Threatening people with arrest for doing the right thing. FEMA has been working against the people of the US for a long time. I have witnessed it in the great flood of 2016 in WV and now in Western NC. Make them do their jobs or disband it and let the states handle it.
