VA Administration and Employee Accountabilty

Based on my experiance in three diffrent departments of the federal Goverment, I beleieve that it has become so diffcult to relieve, reprimand and subseqently fire fedral employees. Performance (regardless of department) in compareson to any private sector organization is lower.

What I am proposing is something that isnt new, and is far from break through. The problem is it is never implmeneted or the change in policy makes no change.

I can list many examples of how this issue is facing America in general, however, where I see it the worst is at The Department of Veteran Affairs. As a Veteran, I only recive my care from the VA. Currently wait times to see my primary doctor is 3 weeks. Perscriptions you have to fight to get them on time before you die. I have watch a veteran be in a ascrutiating pain for 10 hours before he was given pain medication. All of these things are seemingly avoidble. The VA’s accountablity metrics are managed by the VA whitch is a conflict of intrest.

How do we fix ths issue?
Reduce the VA’s load and allow veterans to seek care where they want. Give veterans a choice, The VA health Card (VHIC) should be a not just an ID but health insurance card. This coupled with a private sector accountably and audting agency/organization (simliar to private JACO). This would allow the results of the audit to be public.
