Tariffs should be applies to goods that can be produced in the United States, and more focus on growth should be funneled into said industries. Cars and steel are the first that come to mind, as well as domestic energy production. To make up for the cost, limiting or eliminating certain government spending should be considered, and thankfully (hopefully) the DOGE will do its part in helping with this.
