Public school districts are preventing outside therapy providers from entering schools to help administer therapy such as (speech, OT, ABA-Behavioral, physical therapy). Parents are being held responsible with truancy policies starting at the students age of 6yr old. Parents are being disciplined (jail time) for bringing their kids to therapy, the school districts set guidelines that appointments out of school need to be at different days/times (therapy appointments are generally consistent with the providers schedule, not changing schedules)
Furthermore, there are more pros than cons with this request. Special education teachers will have more help in classrooms to help students with learning communication skills, behavior management, life skills, etc.
Possibly creating a system/platform that therapy providers and schools can cross verify identification to prevent possible threats from entering the school. This allows parents to not take off work without pay in order to take their children to these therapies that are required for their health.
