Better supports for autistic children AND their parents/caregivers. I would like to see parents have access to autism training resources, such as RBT courses, speech therapy courses, things like that. We cant all get degrees in everything needed for our kids, but we could absolutely get crash courses for them so we at least have some more guidance. I would also like to see the ABA standards changed to enable parents to be able to be paid caregivers (in a facility setting to be observed, i dont know how exactly this would work) but it is terrifying sending a nonverbal child to a facility 40 hours per week with people you do not know and they cant tell you anything that happens to them. I would like to see better options for our kids with disabilities.

Yes!!! I have 6 grandkids and two of them have Autism. For 40 years of my 69 years on this Earth I had never met or heard of anyone with this. Now 1 out 6 boys born have it. My data may be old it might be higher now. I will stay in touch as this conversation moves forward, there is so much I need to learn. Thank You
