Reschedule or Remove Cannabis from Controlled Substances Act of 1970

It is very simple. Cannabis has accepted medical uses (See: Epidiolex). That fact alone declassifies it as a schedule I narcotic.
Send it to the states and let each one decide. I lived in Colorado for 6 years and not once did I see, or read about cannabis related murders, assaults, etc.

Its been 80 years, its time to let this plant fulfill its created purpose.

I completely agree cannabis should be rescheduled. Many people with chronic conditions have few options after the opioid crisis for pain control. Cannabis could be a more natural alternative. Plus at this time there are many repercussions for those using cannabis medicinally. For example, certain federal or other jobs like the firearms industry are off limits. Cannabis users also often have to stop taking their meds when traveling due to federal travel restrictions and laws in other states. The biggest problem is that cannabis users give up their second amendment rights which is ridiculous. Many have to choose between their right to protect themselves and their ability to manage pain/ sleep or other medical issues. This is not fair. It’s insane that the federal government has not acted on this issue thus far.

I would like the whole schedule re-examined. We know there are medicinal and/or therapeutic uses for a great deal of what is on there. Ex: cannabis, mushrooms, mdma, etc. We also know that political maneuvering had as much to do with the schedule as actual science. I would like to see a new schedule and a better policy for experimentation for schedule 1. We cannot know unless we are allowed to seek and experiment. That is a God given right that should be protected by our government, not curtailed for the sake of “safety.”

Some high THC varieties that never existed in history are dangerous, can lead to psychosis and need to be evaluated for their safety. An upper levels of safe THC consumption might have to be established.
