It’s clearly unfair for private school families who need to pay a hefty tuition bill also need to foot the bill for public school they can’t use for various reasons. One being religious, another being that the schools may be sub-par. Additionally, building owners in school districts have to pay a disproportionate amount of the school taxes and they are businesses who don’t even use the school. And when your child does need a real service, you’re denied anything unless they are drooling from the mouth. So now as a family who needs to help their child outside the public system, we pay private school tuition, public school tax, and private daily tutors because we were denied benefits for our dyslexic child since he is “average” according to the testing standards.
