Across every portion on the Department of Defense there are a myriads of programs, teams, and facilities that all serve the same function but are funded individually for each Branch. If we consolidated all branches or at least consolidated the Service and Support portion of all the Branches into one sector we could significantly reduce the DOD budget and still retain the same fighting force. Imagine being able to cut half of the bloated Pentagon staff and keep all the equipment and personnel on the ground. The easiest way is to get rid of the redundancies in each branch and supply a singular support channel for all Branches.
