Propose to merge 16 proposals relating to bringing back incandescent light bulbs and removing LED lights

I propose that the following # policy proposals, about {brief overview statement}, get merged:

1

Written by repeal the ban on incandescent lightbulbs

2 The "LIGHT Act" (Lighting Independence and General Household Transparency Act): A bill to repeal the ban on incandescent lightbulbs

#3 Scott RefriedBeing

#4 Bring back Incandescent Bulbs

#5 Incandescent Lighting Choice

#6 Make Incandescent Light Bulbs Great Again and Affordable

#7 Bring back Incandescent light bulbs

#8 Allow incandescent light bulbs to be manufactured and sold again

#9 Lift incandescent light ban

#10 Ban white LED lights from public spaces - #2 by IncandescentBulbs

#11 Regulations on production and use of Lights

#12 Outright Ban on LEDs

#13 Ban All Blue and White Car LED Lights

#14 LED bulbs

#15 Ban LED headlights

#16 Remove Harsh Lighting in Public Spaces

Explanation & Justification

These all address LED lights vs. Incandescent lighting. They all want incandescent lights returned for home use, in schools, in public places and in Headlights/ Tail lights.

I second this! We spent a fortune on buying safe lighting for our home. The majority of us are sensitive to LED, but even to those who don’t notice a problem LEDs are still harmful.

I wish we could end planned obsolescence but that would destroy most manufacturing industries.

I wrote one of these proposals, I’d prefer to keep them separate because it shows that a lot of people care about this topic enough to propose a change. But I do understand the need for a better search function.

Wouldn’t it be great if manufacturers made warm white LED’s that mimicked sunlight like expensive inefficient incandescent lights do? Oh wait that’s right…they do!

I concur with the merge

I strongly disagree with banning LEDs, except in certain circumstances, such as automobile headlights where they are a massive safety issue. However I strongly AGREE with removing the ban on incandescent lights. All types of lighting play a role and need to be available.

I have an electrosmog meter and have tested fluorescent lights, LED lights and incandescent lights. Incandescent have the smallest EMF imprint. LED lights vary DRAMATICALLY in terms of how much electrosmog they are putting out. It appears to depend upon the design and manufacture of that particular light. I have 4 different UFO lights by 4 different manufacturers, and some put out an EMF field measurable from 18" away and others, more like 7 feet! Fluourescents have a larger field than LED’s but also vary dramatically in terms of health effects depending upon the quality of the ballast design. Some fluorescents and LED lights ‘flicker’ and some don’t.

For this reason, I support ALL types of lighting remaining legal and available. Sensitive individuals should purchase their own electrosmog meter for their own protection. Cell phone cameras will register ‘flicker’ so try to photograph or videotape the lighting source when it is on to determine if your new lighting has ‘flicker’

Under Obama manufacturing incendecent was made illegal costing many jobs and creating a large market for China. This law should be recended.

I agree with the merge, with the stipulation that we do not ban LEDs. Allow them both, let the individual decide which one they want.

I expect the following to be controversial, and maybe is best in another thread: I think it is best to also have or pair this with policies removing the government subsidies on energy prices. then the cost of using the incandescents will reflect more true costs, and then the market can work better.

Keeping them legal for personal use would be fine, but these lights can trigger seizures. I know.

When they are used in commercial businesses, then the person with the disorder has no choice. Theses lights can be very dangerous for them in certain situations.

And absolutely should never be allowed for headlights in any vehicles. That is truly dangerous, even for those without the disorder.

I believe Dr. Jack Kruse spoke with RFK jr and is an expert in the effects of sunlight (and lack thereof) at the mitochondrial level. It’s the pinnacle of our health. Smart/LED lightbulbs and blue light screens are NOT healthy at all and should be banned.

isolated blue light (LED) reduces energy production in the mitochondria. See the work of Prof. Glen Jeffery.

Looks like we won this one with Trumps latest announcement.
