No dual-citizen representatives

It’s ridiculous, we are one of less than 10 countries around the world that allow for dual-citizen members of government. There is a massive conflict of interest in these individuals and they have reason not to have loyalty to our constituents as they pledge to do.

Per the U. S. Constitution, your not allowed to hold office if you took and Oath to any other group. And can not be a lawyer.

Isn’t dis anti-shlemedic, or somethin? :rofl: (just kidding)

;;rolling eyes and whistlin’ whilst walkin’ away like nothin’ happened;;;

Is a US passport not considered an ‘Oath to the US’ by a plethora of other countries? Should we not treat other countries the same way as they treat us, is The Dream dead? In no way is this eye-for-an-eye but much more word-for-word. This isn’t vindictive of any country, it’s fair, fair deals through barter is what human civilization is founded upon. We allow dual passport holders, over 90% of others don’t, that’s the argument. If we can’t pick countries individually for fear of social repercussions, the easy answer is get rid of it all. No one can be offended, and we can fit into the global societal order.

Jamon, your point is is spot on. If we are to “Make America Great Again”, we have to first level the playing field with all other countries. Right now we are operating in almost every arena with one hand tied behind our collective backs. In this particular policy suggestion that you created, if actioned upon, will put us on par with every other country who does NOT allow dual-citizenship, while at the same time (as you mentioned) not inviting adverse reciprocity, since it is not directed at any particular country. It is a very sound proposal and would only be argued against by those congressional representatives who hold allegence or favor to other countries outside of the U.S. We absolutely do not need to continue fostering ‘ideal conditions’ for treason within our legislative body, and your proposal does much to reduce those conditions and further limit our exposure to treasonous and domestically-harmful legislation, which favors the interests of other countries over our own Great Nation.

Draining our resources (ie: strategic oil reserves, weapons systems and military hardware,financial wealth, etc.) for the purpose of supporting foreign wars that are in the interest of countries whom we also allow dual-citizenship, is a prime example. Congress is responsible for spending legislation. If a dual-citizen is in control (via congressional voting) of our nation’s wealth, and also wishes to use American wealth and military might to strengthen the foreign country in question, he/she might be inclined to vote for the further draining U.S. resources in order to accomplish that task, even at the expense of the security and well-being of American citizens… In summary, U.S. representatives with dual-citizenship represent a grave conflict of interest at the highest National Security levels and should NOT be allowed to continue.
