Maternity leave should be paid up to 12 weeks. The rates of postpartum depression are horrible and I feel like a huge reason is finances and knowing you are having to rely on someone else or go back to work immediately after birthing a child. It shouldn’t be like this!

This is something that a woman should negotiate in her contract. Making it mandatory discriminates against those women that cannot have kids.

I have also suggested a policy granting paid federal maternal leave, as well as unpaid intermittent leave 8 hours a week for working parents, and flexibility options for working college students. I think you would appreciate it. Would you please consider voting on it?
