Make fake news illegal again. The leftist propaganda campaign has divided our country and brainwashed many Americans.
Many Americans believe the news is reporting factual events not realizing the hidden agenda.
Journalists should be held accountable for false reporting.

This could be done with a credential system.
A non governmental organization would offer a credential essentially verifying them as a credible journalist or news organization.
Should said journalist or news organization be found to be lying/ peddling misinformation/ peddling a narrative for financial gain or influence. The news organization would be fined no less than $50,000 per violation. More than 3 violations in a given year the news organization would lose their accreditation and not be able to work in media for a period of 1 year.

Gotta be careful with that. Shouldnât let the government decide on whatâs fake news/ misinformation or not. If you give them an inch theyâll take a mile and next thing you know free speech is on the line. Should instead stop corporations, shareholders, and politicians from giving them the money to buy them out and put more into supporting local news stations and get real reporters again

We could do an independent organization with a monthly audit for news accuracy to ensure that news and media stations ONLY give the facts and is based on how accurate they are. No more opinions. A lot of this can be dealt with by repealing the smith mundt modernization act. But keep it where they have to be accurate in their reporting and within a certain percentage margin every month or every year. And how often theyâre working to correct anything incorrectly reported.

I strongly disagree with this. The government cannot be the arbitors of truth. They are the ones pushing the lies and censoring the truth. Remember Russiagate, the Covid scam, global warming, flouride? These were all false narratives pushed by government, and itâs a good thing they couldnât ban what they called fake news. We must have access to both sides of every argument, even though one side is wrong.

They used to report the truth until the Obama administration.
The leftist propaganda started becoming rampant at this point.
Over 2,000 people have taken their own lives after the election results came in. These people believed the next coming of hitler was just elected.

Going back to the era before Obama signe the exec order to allow propaganda should be enough. Back then the news agency and the reporter were responsible for verifying the source and the information before reporting. If they failed to do this they were held liable. Along with that we need to require that all persons in Congress and the White House administration swear to and sign some form of oath of truth. While speaking to âWe the Peopleâ and on the senate or house floor, they should be considered under oath. Penalties should be strict, and should be imposed once verification of breaking said oath. This would solve the deviding of our nation and most of the brainwashing of people.

Back in the day the news reporters had to verify their info from 3 sources - but now all of its here say. They stopped holding reporters accountable for what they said, and then the internet opened the flood gates for haters.
If someone states the Pres is a Natzi or facist, thatâs their opinion. But when they said on the âViewâ that he was going to take over reproductive rights from women, that was a big fat lie. Those claims should be eligible for punishment by law.
Considering how many people record Trump with thousands of clips out there, they (the news & talk shows) have a nasty habit of showing a few 5 second clips meshed together to mislead the public. This should also be a crime.

The problem with this is that its hard to enforce, because there will always be someone who has to judge whats âtrueâ. Years ago smoking was considered good for people. If we had this proposed system back then, and the majority, or higher-ups, or those in charge of judging the âtruthâ believed it was good for people to smoke - they would silence news stations who reported it being unhealthy. But yet⌠weâd find out later that those people who were judging âtruthâ were wrong. So all that time, they wouldâve unknowingly been silencing truth rather than promoting it.
I think we should ensure there is no purposeful lying. But the âtruthâ is hard to judge, and just because something is commonly accepted as âfactâ doesnât always make it true.
Plus, that aside - all it takes is ignorant people or corrupt people to be in charge of âtruth-judgingâ for this system to be quickly abused.

On his way out the door, Obama eliminated the Smith-Mundt Act of 1948 which prohibited propaganda. Restore that Act.

Along with the policy to remove all governmental actors with dual citizenship, I think it would be great to apply that to any (news) organization that is going to be blasting their messages on TVs. There are too many confused boomers voting and the times are a changinâ.
I think We the People need to call out these opinion outlets and demand REAL NEWS!

Agree with this premise, and add âdirect FCC to fine heavily and/or remove licensure of âmainstream mediaâ upon discovery of propoganda and mockingbird reportingâ

These things are determined in court, not decided upon by âgovernmentâ. The media needs to be punished for their lies and crimes.
