To make blantly lying and spreading misinformation to the public through main stream media, a felony, or very hefty fine.
-Have mainstream media, podcasts, live tv ect. Be fined or sent to court for lying to the public about political figures or topics deemed important.
- Of course if they get information in a “Breaking” type and report on it for it to be later false they should have to publicly admit it was incorrect or have a separate part of their website or during live air time to show self fact checks. A mainstream fact checking website would also be nice.
We need the people to trust the largest and easiest way to consume news. The media used to be trusted and needs to be again. The older generation doesn’t use social media as us younger people do, so they are all brain washed. They are gullible because they were raised during a time where the news papers were true and the radios were locals they trusted.
And yes have left and right leaning media, but also a government information program and independent ran mainstream media doing it all. Being informative and caring about keeping people informed. Have direct links to policies talked about while live or in reruns.
-Hold media like the view accountable, you should have to have a degree or cert, just something to be able to inform the general public. This propaganda on both sides needs abolished.
