Eliminate the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2912. This allows the US government to be a target of US government funded information campaigns. Make it a felony with steep fines. The original Smith-Mundt Act of 1948 was established as a prohibition on domestic dissemination of materials intended for foreign audiences by the state department, also known as propaganda. It was established as a barrier between government agencies and the media, and for 65 years the act stood unchallenged, given the role propaganda is generally reserved for empowering dictatorial governments.

I want to focus on the NEWS SINCE it hold a TON of weight in America, much more than social media. So I would prefer for this to only be utilized for actual NEWS outlets that have all their licensing etc. Once we have the NEWS being TRUTHFUL and reporting with integrity then they can report on Harry Sisson being a liar on TIK TOK, for example lol. This preserves free speech on social platforms, but will also ensure the NEWS is a clean , truthful, honest platform that can debunk social media, AND NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND! So with that being said…
The media does not hold their reports accountable nor their hosts (like the show the View.) These CNN reports make 2 million a year for lying to us! There should be some sort of accountability ladder that increases the punishment.
For example: CNN - Dana bash says XYZ (it’s been 1 week and she repeated it 2-3 times) we need the Courts to send her a warning. She will be allowed a second warning, then on her third infraction - it’s in the court as her being flagged for spreading false information - and she will not be allowed to be on the air until an investigation is done for misinformation. So a through investigation will need to be done and SHE WILL HAVE TO PAY ALL THE COURT COSTS FOR THIS INVESTIGATION. If she wins, then she will not have to pay for the investigation. (This is to ensure the truth will always prevail in case democrats try slapping reports with this method.)
THIS ALL WILL ONLY WORK if we have actual non-biased investigators of course.
But it’s a concept! Let me know what you would like to include or remove or any other information that I am not aware of knowledge on when it comes to news and reporting.

Historically journalists had investigative skills and corroborated their stories, now they write fiction and fake news based on rumor as well as unsubstantiated claims more than actual news. What can you expect from full time activists though other than them to spout their political stances as if they were reality. How can anyone trust anything the main stream media or the government currently publishes? The liberals acting to make it easier to lead sheeple and because they no longer place American citizens right to know and protection from our governments misinformation ahead of our enemies have followed in other tyrannical governments footsteps. Obama and his liberal majority repealed U.S. Propaganda Bans in 2013 (Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 1948 and Foreign Relations Authorization Act of 1987), now the government is not prohibited from Spreading Government-Made News (lies) to Americans.
Making it even better RINOs and the liberals with the US population embracing the holidays and oblivious of most news emerging from the administration, Obama quietly signed into law the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which authorizes $611 billion for the military in 2017, but buried within the NDAA was an egregious bill ‘Countering Disinformation And Propaganda Act’.
What we need is to enforce and maybe expand 18 U.S. Code § 1038 - False information and hoaxes to be explicit about lies and false or unsubstantiated fake news!
We must also get the FCC to implement a rule stating a broadcast company shall indicate when their show is not fact based! All reporting In our nation should follow and pass three Socratic tests, is it true, is it good, is it useful? Failure to tell the truth, provide an unbiased report, failure to follow accepted journalistic practices and verify the truth of a report prior to publishing must result in immediate and permanent loss of all their broadcast and business licenses. In addition the entire company assets and bank accounts shall be seized and made available for damages due to slander and libel.
