Federally Mandate P.E. & sport participation in HS

Make America Healthy Again!

We’re experiencing the obesity epidemic because people have forgotten the fundamentals of fitness and the benefits of exercise! The habits start at a young age and should be taught with reinforcement.

Federally mandate enrolling in a physical education class every year in high school.

You can choose whatever combination you want, but at least 3 semesters worth of the 8 must be in weight training.

Each student should be required to participate in 1 sport every year. They choose the sport, but they must be involved in at least 1 sport every year. It does not need to be varsity (they could be on JV as an upperclassmen).

If they don’t have what it takes to make the team, they can be on the non-travel practice squad with cross-country in the Fall, or Badminton/T&F in the Spring. Just something to keep them physically active or mandate that they exercise daily.

Most states only require 1 TOTAL year of PE to graduate.

Not only is there insurmountable evidence supporting the benefits of daily exercise, but the skill sets learned from engaging in group activities are tremendously beneficial for psychological and social welfare.
