Manditory Physical Education Standards in Schools

As a Highschool student, I see many issues in how our modern school systems are run. The majority of students are either severely over or under weight. Very few people in our schools have normal, healthy lifestyles compared to that of generations prior. A great deal of these issues are caused by schools not enforcing/encouraging students to stay fit. My school only requires one credit of a physical education class across the entirety of the four years of highschool. This credit can be obtained through the normal gym and weights classes, as well as through various easier options. I believe that instituting a mandatory four years of physical education classes, or four credits, as well as raising the standards of these physical education classes, will allow for future generations to have knowledge to live healthier lifestyles and build good habits of diet and physical activity.
