Extra Tax Breaks for Single Parents

Personally, I believe income tax should be eliminated and don’t believe them to be legal. However, if income tax is not going to be eliminated, although I am not a single parent (I was raised by a single parent. We were poor as my mom tried to make ends meet), I think any single parent (male or female) should be given an extra tax break as it is extremely hard to pay for a home (rent/mortgage), utilities, food, etc with just one income. It seems many single parents would have a hard time being able to have the option on top of these expenses to send their child(ren) to private school if they wanted to give their child a better education, considering how horrible our public education is as a whole (nationwide).

The tax burden should already be less for single parents given that the income bracket would be lower relative to the # of dependents.

Making a policy where single parents get even bigger tax breaks could contribute to families in need of money splitting up to save on taxes.

In theory, I agree- but I don’t think this is the right approach.
