End Mask Mandates for declining the flu shot in the medical workplace

Those who decline the Flu vaccine due to religious or medical reasons in the medical field are forced to wear a mask from November to April. This is discrimination towards those who do not get it and honestly doesn’t make sense at all. If the flu vaccine works then those who got it shouldn’t be scared to be around someone who doesn’t get it. If I get sick then yes I will wear a mask to prevent myself from spreading it but to mask a healthy person to prevent them from getting sick or spreading something they don’t have is ridiculous.

Some healthcare workers who have not taken the flu vaccine have to wear the mask starting November 1 (or the middle of November) to June 1. Even if the flu season is declared over in May by the CDC, some employers make the unvaccinated wear it till June 1. Often times the flu vaccine is declared to not be that effective due to a poor match for the virus strains circulating. Also, why isn’t someone’s vaccination status protected by HIPAA? End mask mandates for declining any vaccine and prevent employers from asking your vaccination status, any employer and including for healthcare workers. There is info about the negative health effects of wearing a mask.

I can’t tell you how many nurses I talk to who when this started said they don’t normally get it but don’t want to wear a mask so they end up getting it.
Which is the whole reason they started this.
