Policy on Vaccine Mandates for Federal and Hospital Workers

Purpose:

The purpose of this policy is to establish a clear position regarding vaccine mandates for federal workers and hospital workers, ensuring individual choice and respecting personal freedoms while promoting safe and effective workplace practices.

Scope:

This policy applies to all federal employees, contractors, and hospital staff within institutions under federal oversight.

Policy Statement:

The organization is committed to upholding the rights of individuals to make informed healthcare decisions. Accordingly, the organization prohibits mandatory vaccination requirements for employment. This policy does not restrict employees from voluntarily receiving vaccines nor from seeking information to make an informed decision about vaccinations.

Key Provisions:

  1. No Mandated Vaccination for Employment:

Federal agencies and federally regulated healthcare facilities shall not require COVID-19 or other vaccinations as a condition of employment, continued employment, or promotion.

  1. Protection Against Discrimination and Retaliation:

Employees who choose not to receive vaccinations shall not be subject to discrimination, punitive actions, or retaliation. All employees have the right to a respectful workplace that honors personal health choices.

  1. Promotion of Voluntary Vaccination:

The organization encourages informed decision-making regarding health practices and will provide accurate, evidence-based information about vaccines. Access to vaccines remains available on a voluntary basis, with employees encouraged to consult healthcare providers for guidance.

  1. Exemptions and Accommodations:

In cases where certain job roles or locations may have health requirements, accommodations will be made to support unvaccinated employees while ensuring a safe workplace.

  1. Health and Safety Measures:

The organization remains committed to workplace health and safety. In alignment with public health recommendations, measures such as hygiene protocols, PPE availability, and flexible work arrangements will be upheld as appropriate to reduce the risk of infectious disease transmission.

Effective Date:

This policy is effective immediately and will remain in place unless amended or revoked.

Enforcement:

Managers and supervisors are responsible for enforcing this policy fairly. Human Resources shall handle any complaints or reports of policy violations, with a commitment to maintaining a fair and respectful workplace.

Excellent! I have a friend in nursing school who is actively being discriminated against over a vaccine mandate. This must end.

Excellent post!

I would add rehire any public employee (teacher, admin, firefighter, service member) and any nurse who lost a job because of a Covid Vaccine mandate.

I would like to see employers that mandated the vaccine and fired individuals have to give back pay and compensation toward time lost until retirement. For example, I was denied Religious exemption and fired for refusal. I had 24 years of State service, with 7 years left until I could retire. I would have been 55yo with 31 years of service. I believe I deserve back pay, plus the additional 7 years pay until retirement, especially since years of service effects retirement pay.
