Healthcare workers should have the right to decide whether or not to receive the flu vaccine without the threat of job loss. Requiring a vaccine that someone may not feel comfortable taking to maintain employment isn’t fair. Also, the CDCs medical exemption allowances are so minimal that employers aren’t even allowed to accept them.

medical people deserve a right and say on what is going in they’re bodies.

Yes!!! This is why I did not pursue a medical career even though I have so many people come to me for advice on medical issues because I refuse to put something in my body to keep a job. I would love to be in the medical field but No thank you!

I agree. I do not get the flu vaccine for religious reasons and now I’m forced to wear a mask from Nov-Apr like a Jewish star telling everyone I’m not vaxxed. Its discrimination and ridiculous.

To add to that, a lot of healthcare jobs also still require proof of original COVID vaccines. This requirement needs to end as well

Or we just make it that no one is forced to take them. I don’t want to inject my self or my kids with poison that actually does the opposite of what they say it does. No one should be forced anything like this.

Me, too. I equate it to having to wear the star of David on my arm or a scarlet letter in the middle of my chest. This year, the efficacy of the flu vaccine in the southern hemisphere was a whopping 34.5% yet I’m considered to be the walking plague for almost 6 months? It’s funny how many of the patients in my clinic, who are all vaccinated for flu, end up getting flu. Most of them, I never come in contact with so there’s no way it’s me that spreading it. This forced mask wearing violates our civil rights.

I completely agree with this. And they should not be able to discriminate against us for not being vaccinated. Such as making us wear a mask during “flu season.” I find this to be a personal choice and a privacy issue.

On this note, I refuse to wear the mask. I go in and out of buildings all day. My company itself doesn’t implement the policy, but many care facilities I am in does.
I’m currently in nursing school and I fear I will be limited to tela-health because I refuse to get the flu vaccine. I think it’s unfair that we don’t get to decide what we keep in and out of our bodies out of fear of being unemployable. I pray posts of this nature get the attention they deserve.

I have turned down nursing positions due to the mandatory flu shot. It is beyond ridiculous- in my worst times I am still healthier than most anyone I know.
