Constitutional Accountability Act

Introducing the Constitutional Accountability Act, a proposal aimed at ensuring that government officials uphold the Constitution in all legislative and policy actions. This act would impose severe repercussions on members of Congress, heads of federal agencies, the President, and any government official who votes for, passes, implements, or instates any rule, law, or policy that is later determined by the Supreme Court to be unconstitutional. By holding officials accountable for unconstitutional actions, this policy seeks to deter the intentional erosion of constitutional rights and prevent the repetitive cycle of unconstitutional policy being passed, struck down, and side-stepped. The “Constitutional Accountability Act” aims to preserve the integrity of the Constitution, reinforce the rule of The Constitution, and promote a more responsible and conscientious governance that respects the foundational principles of the nation.

I like it. Worried about it being weaponized.

The enumerated powers cede limited activities to the federal government. About 2/3ds of the federal government is outside of those powers, the rest that were left to the states and the people. Donald Trump’s proposal to eliminate the Department of Education is best implemented based on the enumerated powers and is a great start, but when implemented requires the whole overreach house of cards to fall in validation

Exactly. This is, I think, too powerful of a tool for the government to have. Especially since it is plausible that politicians might be out of office for decades before a law gets ruled unconstitutional and that SCOTUS has overturned rulings on Constitutionality before.

In order to run for ANY office, the proposed candidate should have to take an exam on the US Constitution. This test should be a requirement, and only those who pass would be eligible for a position.
