We have to many adults with true mental health issues that don’t get the proper care they need. For an example a family has an adult who they know is suicidal. Because this adult has told them they want to kill themselves. So they call the authorities to investigate, but if that adult doesn’t tell the investigating authorities that they want to kill themselves nothing can be done. Not to mention if they do take them to a mental health facility and after arriving the adult says they want to leave they just let them walk out the door. There needs to be a policy that holds the patient until doctors have had time to a through mental health evaluation. There are entirely to many suicides that could have been prevented from nothing being able to be done by the family to get their loved one the help they need.
