Call a Convention of the States to Limit the Scope, Power and Jurisdiction of the Federal Government

I’m strum with the same. LOL

This may be the only peaceful way to take back our country. The problem is that it takes time, Can we get there in time? Getting 38 will be harder than getting 34.
What got us here is reinterpretation of the Constitution. Amend to require original intent interpretation.

@MarkMeckler . I would also add that all state representatives sent to DC be allowed to actually vote WITH congress (House and Senate seperately) to add to the validity of the vote at the end of the process. The reps will be both Democrat and Republican depending on the state legislature and Governors pick so it won’t be solely a one sided vote. This will allow states to actually have any power. If we don’t demand this, Congress can have votes as usual just for a photo op and say oh well term limits failed, a balanced budget amendment couldn’t be passed due to no support, etc.

The safe-guards for this convention is ratification by the states. We NEED this to correct a runaway bureaucracy. Spending is out of control. Congress will not limit itself. Call for the Convention of States.

We need Convention of states to strengthen our constitution to help preserve our freedoms. We must do this through the States / the people as the Federal government is broken.

Proposal for Congressional Policy to Address Naked Short Selling.

Making Markets Transparent Legitimate and Principled (MMTLP Policy)

Executive Summary:

Naked short selling—essentially the counterfeiting of stocks—is eroding trust in our financial markets and jeopardizing the retirement accounts of countless Americans. The case of ticker symbol MMTLP serves as a stark illustration of the pervasive issues linked to these practices. This proposal advocates for a congressional hearing to investigate the ramifications of naked short selling and to establish policies that safeguard investors and enhance market transparency.

Background:

The trading of MMTLP was halted by FINRA nearly two years ago due to what they called an “extraordinary event”. This event was never disclosed to the investors who have had their funds frozen for nearly two years. The unprecedented U3 halt of MMTLP resulted in significant financial distress for 65,000 to 100,000 investors. Despite their efforts to communicate the details of this situation to Congress, there has been insufficient support for a formal inquiry. Compounding this issue, the SEC has stonewalled congressional inquiries, while FINRA has actively resisted transparency efforts in court, preventing a clear understanding of the actual share count related to MMTLP.

Objectives:

Conduct a Comprehensive Investigation and obtain the Certified Audited Aggregate Share Count for MMTLP.
Gather Investor Testimonies. Collect firsthand accounts from affected investors to highlight the real-world impact of naked short selling on their financial security and retirement savings.
Establish a congressional hearing to delve into the practices of naked short selling and prioritize efforts to ascertain the certified audited aggregate share count of MMTLP, promoting transparency and accountability within the market.
Formulate Regulatory Reforms: Based on the findings of the hearing, propose specific regulatory changes aimed at enhancing market transparency, protecting investors, and preventing further abuses.

Rationale:

The situation surrounding MMTLP exemplifies what may be one of the largest Wall Street scandals in decades. Regulatory bodies, which are intended to protect investors, have instead contributed to their harm through inaction and resistance to transparency. A formal congressional hearing will not only bring these critical issues to light but will also empower Congress to enact meaningful reforms that restore trust in our financial system.

Call to Action:

I urge Congress to prioritize this issue by supporting the establishment of a hearing to prioritize the certified audited aggregate share count of MMTLP. By doing so, we can protect investors, ensure a fair market environment, and uphold the integrity of our financial system.

Thank you for considering this urgent proposal to safeguard
the financial futures of American investors.

The problem has always been that a long time serving representees can bring home the bacon more so then a newbie. We need to attack the appropriation issue then it wouldn’t matter how long they served

I support the COS movement. A change that I believe is crucial is regarding the Electoral College. I believe the founders never intended for states to be ALL or NONE states. In my personal opinion, this invalidates/Disenfranchises many voters in a state and shifts control of the state’s electoral votes to cities and away from rural voters.

Secondly, to prevent gerrymandering the defining of congressional districts should be done by a geographic and non-politically driven formula. Example: Divide the State’s population by the number of congressional seats of the state to calculate the target population for each congressional district. Then start at the most Northeastern point of a state and expand the size of the district by incrementing the Western and Southern borders of the district by some geographical Degrees.Minutes increment until this district contains the target population for a district. Then move to the southeast corner of this district and repeat the process across the state until the needed number of congressional districts are defined. This should be changed every ten years based on the mandated Census counts.

These two changes would assure political candidates would need to reach 100% of the congressional districts in each state, rather than just seeking 50.1% of the votes in a state. Again, making certain every congressional district has a say in the election of candidates for office.

I agree as a wholehearted constituent Patriot.

The Framers of the US Constitution included in Article V the solution for when the federal/national government became tyrannical: the convention of states to propose amendments and re-establish authority of the states/people. With all the problems that have come to light, we need not flailing arms and Capitol Hill hearings. We need the biggest, best solution, the Convention of States to rein in the scope, power and jurisdiction of the federal government.
The process is the solution. The states meet to form amendments that bring a new, bright functioning federalism back to the people. Corruption breeds in the dark, overgrown bureaucracy. The Convention of States is already shining the light upon the solution as big as the problems. Not sure I understand…but let me try to clarify. Congress has no role in the voting process at all when the proposed amendments come out of convention. The amendments are voted upon by the states alone. Does that help?

Small government is the birthright of every true constitutionalist! As patriots we see the damage BIG govt. has done and we want to correct it, peacefully!

I fully support COS, however there must be protections against the process being captured/steered in a way to suit the few. We want the US to be of the people and by the people, as designed by our founders.

Lets assume youre right and it is hijacked. Whatever comes out of it must be ratified by 38 States. So again, with that protection in mind, do you think 38 States will ratify any lunacy?

However, even before that, States like South Carolina put into their Resolution that if anything is attempted to be discussed outside of the proposed topics, they will recall their commissioners. Other States will as well.

Lastly, a COS has no more or less power than our currently hijacked Congress. Do you trust Congress more than this to limit themselves?

I think your ignorance is driving your fear, which is driving your apprehension. Do some homework on this.

An Article V Convention is the ONLY peaceful path which remains to save all US citizens from living in a socialist nation. We must ALL convince our state legislators to pass the Convention of States resolution. 19 States are already on board. How do we get the 15 more required? We the People MUST engage with our state legislators and convince them to take responsibility for all that is wrong in Washington!

I see. So it’s ratified by the states whether or not the Federal Government wants them or not? If that is so that would be great! I think that some of the Federal Govt is too far removed (or above everyone else) from what an average American wants to see change. Thank you for doing this.

Congress will never meaningfully restrain its own power. This is the only lawful peaceful method I see for reining in an out-of-control federal government that is spending its way to our own destruction. The federal government has incurred over $35+ Trillion dollars in debt on our behalf. That debt is over $100,000 for each and every man, woman, and child in the United States. This is a very real, very horrifying staggering level of debt that needs to be addressed through an Article V convention.

The fear of its opponents is very sad and very misplaced. Congress has the power to propose amendments to the U.S. Constitution every single day it is in session. There is nothing this constitutionally-authorized state-led Article V convention can do that Congress cannot do every day it is in session; it is just that Congress will not do what needs to be done. Morever, any proposed amendment must be ratified by a three-fourths supermajority of states; there is no other protective threshold like this in the whole of the US Constitution.

I plead with my fellow citizens to exercise wisdom, to consider the staggering level of federal debt, to inform themselves of the peaceful constitutional remedy available to us, and to support this movement before it is too late.

DC will not limit their own power and spending, through term limits or budget limits. Yet, the size, scope, deficits, unfunded liabilities and federal overreach that is micromanaging us and limiting individual liberty grows unchecked. Electing “change agents” who promised to do this in the past, have failed for decades. For decades despite polling at super-majority levels (70-85%) of popularity among us, Congress have not proposed amendments to limit their terms or balance or restrain their budgets. If we care about a financially sound federal government that is sustainable, We the People were given a tool in Article V of the Constitution to do so: a Convention of States fire alarm to pull, to rein in DC. The federal buildings and institutions are burning, and its time to pull the alarm and propose the structural changes as big as the problems.
