Ban HFCS

High fructose corn syrup is banned in Europe, which use regular cane sugar. In comparison, high fructose corn syrup can increase liver fat by 38%. The first place we become insulin resistant is our liver. When our liver is overwhelmed with high carb and fructose diets, it converts the carbs into fat and exports it to other parts of the body. If the liver cannot handle the load, it will itself begin to become fat. This fat then can accumulate in other areas like our muscles and pancreas causing a fatty pancreas and muscles which will become insulin resistant which will then result in diabetes. Insulin resistance is linked to every metabolic disorder (cancer, PCOS, Alzheimer’s , obesity, erectile dysfunction, anxiety/depression, diabetes, etc.). 88-92% of Americans are insulin resistant. If we want to reverse our health epidemic, banning HFCS is a necessity.

Aleksandra, thank you for this initiative! It’s a crucial issue for our national health. As an integrative health & nutrition coach, I couldn’t agree with you more. Even short of banning HFCS, how about if our government stopped SUBSIDIZING it? – Yael Bernhard

High Fructose Corn Syrup is in almost everything in the super market they even put it in meat. Multidextrose is 3 times worse too

Ban it now, and stop the food industry from masking it by calling it other names
