Balanced Budget

A balanced budget must be in place by Sep 30 of each year. Failure to do so will result in each sitting member of Congress being ineligible for re-election. If the Federal Debt exceeds 50% of GDP, a budget with at least 3% surplus must be in place by Sep 30 of each year until the debt is reduced to less than 50% of GDP. Failure to do so results in each sitting member of Congress being ineligible for re-election. Why does this have to be 500 characters? Why does this have to be 500 characters? Why does this have to be 500 characters?

Modify Balance Budget slightly so we don’t wipe out all knowledge Or punish jr members. Any year that the US budget is not balanced or passed on time no congress or senate person in any position of leadership or committee leadership in the house or senate is ineligible for reelection to any federal office, or appointment to a cabinet post, ambassadorship, or staff position for 10 years. And are further barred from lobbying the federal government.

Yes. I’d prefer that members of Congress and the President and Vice President and members of the Cabinet just be personally liable for whatever the deficit is that year, divided amongst themselves. They wouldn’t be able to discharge that debt in bankruptcy.
