I would love to see from day 1 in budget development, the Reagan plan, your budgets are now ZERO. No longer, will we guarantee automatic growth, and allow budget cuts to be taken from potential growth. Your budget is ZERO DOLLARS, prove what you need, justify the expense, and make it match the Administration’s platform… common sense budget, and make the House approve budgets department by department, dollar for dollar… and balance it based on income, which demands we stop overspending and borrowing.

Most state constitutions require their states to have balanced budgets. The fact that the federal government has not adopted this policy suggests that they do not want to be constrained by a budgetary approval process. The rubber stamp votes to increase the debt limit also have not been able to drive the behavior needed, and the national debt is a major problem with staggering interest payments. Put the requirement into law to drive the behavior and pay down the debt by using surplus revenues to eliminate it. The government needs to be run more like a successful business!
Balancing the budget means nothing. All one has to do is make a journal entry for borrowing and it is balanced. What we need is to limit expenses to revenue
Before there are cuts to things like: Medicare etc. CUT out the waste here (see link) x.com
An idea to trim the budget - prohibit organizations receiving Federal funding from making contributions to political campaigns.
Any enterprise (for or non-profit) that receives Federal funding AND makes contributions to any political campaign has its Federal funding reduced for a period of five (5) years by the total amount of the political contributions for the prior year.
Example: 2024 Federal funding $1,000,000, 2024 political contributions $600,000. Federal funding for years 2025-2029 cannot exceed $400,000.
Funding for 2025 $400,000 with $100,000 in political contributions. Federal funding for 2026-2030 cannot exceed $300,000.
In 2026 Federal funding $300,000, political contributions $75,000. Federal funding for years 2027-2031 cannot exceed $225,00.
This would mean that organizations receiving Federal money would have to use it for the purpose given, and would eliminate politicians giving money to their friends who turn around and donate to their campaigns.
