The current vetting process for legal immigration is for the people to be in the United States for 10 years, go through intensive classes before becoming a legal citizen. I’ve been to Naturalization before judges and the people are so proud to become US citizens.
The timeframe is too long. The classes they take are not taught in schools anymore (sad), so our own citizens don’t know as much as they do.
If the vetting process could be condensed to 2-years, immigrants may choose to come through the legal process.
