Reform legal immigration

The current system often places undue strain on immigrants and their families, many of whom have lawfully pursued every requirement in their path to citizenship, only to face years or even decades of waiting. This has far-reaching impacts, not only on the individuals and families directly affected but also on our nation’s economic and social fabric.

As a proponent of legal immigration, I believe it is crucial for us to encourage and reward those who seek to contribute to our country through lawful means. However, the excessive delays and limited access to visas hinder these individuals from achieving their dreams and realizing their potential contributions to our economy and society.

I urge you to consider reforms that will address these extended processing times and streamline the pathway for those who follow the law in seeking entry and residence in our country. Reducing the visa backlogs and implementing more efficient, transparent processing mechanisms would alleviate the hardships faced by countless individuals and families, while fostering a system that aligns with the values of fairness and opportunity that our nation holds dear.

I’ve been saying this for years. Unfortunately most American have no idea what the current process is like. We need immigration reform badly.
I am hopeful that after the border is secured and the number of undocumented people in the country is reduced, that government can turn its attention to fixing the current immigration process. First on the list should be getting through the back-logs of applications.
