Strict policies for protecting animals

We are capable of saving so many animals. Why won’t we?
It should be illegal to own a unregistered animal.
Free registrations for any animal, as long as it is registered.
Illegal to breed any animal without a license. Each breeding should be requested for. Not being able to indefinitely breed.
Animal abuse, with hard evidence you should be as harshly convicted as if they were a child. Animals are just as innocent. We need to protect them too!

I was wondering, respectfully, how would registering help protect animals?

I am all for protecting animals. I just don’t know that government supervision and penalties, I assume, would do more good than harm. I and everyone in my life have all had animals and treated them good. No one needed to make us do that, we wanted to. They weren’t registered for the most part. Threat of government … uh… inspection?.. wouldn’t have changed anything. In fact, we might have skipped taking in the animals to avoid the bureaucracy.

I agree that puppy mills and such ought not happen, if you were referring to that there in the middle. Although over breeding could be added to laws about animal abuse. That might help?

Increasing the penalty for animal abuse might well be in order, I agree. That is certainly something to look into.
