SSDI is a program that American’s work into, so if an American citizen has the credits and a qualifying condition we need to make this process smoother and faster for approval. Currently it takes a year or more to be approved or denied and many people who are deserving of it are denied and spend years appealing. Also the fact that the state you live in can determine your chances of approval or denial is discriminatory and must be changed. Disabled Americans are vulnerable and can’t afford to wait years for approval, this puts their health and finances at major risk.
