A lifetime loss of 2nd Amendment rights for certain non-violent felonies seems like cruel and unusual punishment. There should be a simple, uniform process for those convicted of state and federal non-violent felonies to get their right to bear arms restored. If a non-violent felon has been reformed and goes on to lead a the life of a productive member of society, why shouldn’t their gun rights be restored.
